This time last Tuesday I decided I had to do something about my weight which had been creeping back up not-so-slowly since December last year. I weighed myself and came in at a hefty 122.3kgs.
I was so disappointed in myself that I'd managed to gain 10kgs back that I've already lost 2 or 3 times that I knew I had to do something and do it quick.
So, this week I cut out as much fatty food as possible. I made loads of Minestrone Soup to be enjoyed at lunch time. I cut down on my bread intake and upped my veggie intake. I made seafood pasta for dinner a couple of times and served it with huge garden salads. I've eaten cervelat (just the one) and salad and spaghetti bolognese. I've enjoyed a couple of egg salad sandwiches. I refrained from eating hot chips and crisps, my worst enemy and I snacked instead on Studentenfutter, a mix of nuts and sultanas. A couple of times I indulged in ice cream or chocolate and I treated myself to half a bottle of Merlot one evening (2 good sized glasses)
In addition to the proper eating I have walked around 12-15kms and swum over 100 laps of an Olympic sized pool (50m). I have increased my general moving about and generally found more energy.
When I weighed myself this morning I found I was 117.9kg. I have lost 4.4kgs this week. Realistically I know I will not be able to sustain this kind of weightloss every week and will be more than happy with a 1kg loss from now until I feel happy with my body. But what a way to start!
